The current strategy falls short
For over 50 years we have searched for a cure. We have mobilized thousands of the most brilliant scientists and physicians. We have looked deep into the heart of the cancer cell for a way to destroy it. We have amassed incredible knowledge and developed remarkable technologies. We have created powerful drugs and given them to millions of people with cancer. Although the side effects can be severe, certain types of cancer are now highly curable. Most are not.
After 50 years and 200 billion dollars we have not cured cancer. Last year alone, over 570,000 Americans and 7,000,000 people worldwide died of cancer. Why?
Current strategies fail because cancer cells EVOLVE new ways to beat drugs -- or hide from them. Today's surgery, radiation and chemotherapy cannot always find and destroy them before they destroy us.
We need a new strategy
Is there a strategy that CAN beat cancer? We believe there is: a strategy that outfoxes cancer cell evolution and kills the cancer cells that are hiding using drugs delivered in small, safe doses over prolonged periods of time -- drugs designed to kill ONLY cancer cells. What makes this possible?
All cancer cells have two traits: proliferation and invasiveness. They divide and create new cancer cells. Scientists call this proliferation. And they go where they don't belong. Scientists call this invasiveness. All cancer cells proliferate and invade. Most normal cells do not, so we can identify and target cancer cells.
Cancer cells proliferate and invade using normal processes that we already understand. Proliferation and invasiveness create unique protein patterns. We can use these patterns to identify, target and kill cancer cells.
With this pattern-targeting approach, we will be able to give 5 to 10 drugs together at low doses -- drugs designed to kill the cancer cells and ONLY the cancer cells.
Over time, this approach will kill ALL the cancer cells and ONLY the cancer cells -- including the ones that HIDE and EVOLVE, the ones we can't kill right now, and the ones that cause so much death and suffering.
Most normal cells don't have the patterns so the drugs won't harm them.
Since we will give the drugs in low, safe doses, they will have few side effects.
Our objective is: no more hair loss, no more nausea, no more suffering and dying from cancer.
